"Madness": Sumérgete en la nueva era de ACROSS THE SHADE

Una canción muy antigua creada en 2014 por Kamil, incluso antes de que Across The Shade se convirtiera en una banda. Incluso apareció en una primera demo, pero luego fue abandonada. Decidimos revivirla, hicimos algunos cambios y se convirtió en la gran canción de apertura del álbum. Esta canción, en general, habla sobre la desaparición, sobre el paso de la vida.

Very old song created back in 2014 by Kamil even before Across The Shade was turned into a band. It even appeared on an early demo but then it was abandoned. We decided to bring it back to life, made some changes and it became the great opening song for the album. This song is in general about vanishing, life passing by.

Esta es la canción más melódica y con más ritmo del álbum. Un estribillo pegadizo en el que los gruñidos se entrelazan con una hermosa voz femenina. En el medio hay un puente épico que termina con un solo de guitarra.

This one is the most groovy yet melodic song on the album. Catchy chorus where growls intertwine with beautiful female vocals. In the middle there is an epic bridge finished with a guitar solo.

Bueno, recuerdo que Don't Fall Asleep fue el primero que escribimos juntos y salió prácticamente de la nada. Nos pusimos al día con las partes a medida que avanzábamos, sin cambiar mucho en la versión final de lo que creamos el 23 de abril. Fue una buena señal de que el proceso creativo iría bien y podríamos hacer material genial.

Well I remember that Don't Fall Asleep was the first one we wrote together and it came out basically out of the blue. We were catching up on parts as we went along, not changing much in the final version from what we created on April 23. It was a cool sign that the creative process would go smoothly and we could make cool material

Esta canción es un poco divertida porque trata sobre matar zombis. Originalmente se hizo para otro proyecto, pero después de algunos cambios resultó lo suficientemente melódica para Across The Shade.

This song is a little bit funny because it is all about killing zombies. It was originally made for another project but after some changes it was melodic enough for ATS 🙂

Otro viejo. Tal vez no tan viejo como Falling Leaf, pero definitivamente hecho antes de 2020. Trata sobre intentar sobrevivir en el desierto helado. Intentar encontrar un refugio. Y cuando crees que lo encontraste (la cúpula), resulta ser mucho peor que antes. Estás muriendo, pero no pudriéndote.

Another old one. Maybe not as old as Falling Leaf but definitely made before 2020. It’s about trying to survive on the ice desert. Trying to find a shelter. And when you think that you found it (the dome) it turns out far worse that it was before. You are dying, but not rotting.

Es extraño, pero teníamos a Fleshgod Apocalypse en mente cuando creamos esta canción. Por supuesto, no tiene prácticamente ninguna similitud, pero se suponía que debía ser similar, jaja... Resulta ser una combinación de algunos teclados de Ghost, riffs de djent y versos de black metal. En nuestra opinión, esta es la canción más interesante del álbum.

It’s weird but we had Fleshgod Apocalypse in mind when creating this song. Of course it has literally zero similarities but it was supposed to be similar haha 🙂 It turns out to be a mashup of some Ghost’s keyboards, djent riffs, and black metal verse. In our opinion this is the most interesting track on the album.

En cuanto a Kingdom, se inspiró en Rotting Christ y en el deseo de hacer una canción que fuera un vals genial para un concierto. No hubo un deslumbramiento mágico ni trompetas celestiales tocando entre las nubes. El riff fluyó al instante, la estrofa y el estribillo coincidieron y tenemos una canción pegadiza y enérgica que podría ser un éxito en un concierto.

As for Kingdom, it was inspired by Rotting Christ and the desire to make a song that would be a cool waltz for a concert. There was no magical daze or celestial trumpets amidst the clouds playing. The riff flew in instantly, the verse and chorus were matched and we have a catchy and energetic roller that could be a concert hit

Una de las primeras canciones que hicimos juntos desde cero. Podemos encontrar allí, de forma similar a Kingdom, riffs rápidos y pegadizos pero con pocos cambios. Hay, digamos, un coro épico de Death melódico clásico con acordes abiertos que crea un gran espacio y volumen. Pero después del primer coro hay una parte post-metal que es un momento agradable y tranquilo antes de la tormenta. Esta canción sin duda tiene muchas vibraciones diferentes, pero todas ellas crean una imagen única.

One of the first tracks we did together from scratch. We can find there, similar to Kingdom, fast and catchy riffs but with few twists. There is, let’s say, a classical Melodic Death epic chorus with open chords which creates big space and volume. But after the first chorus there is some post-metal part which is a nice and calm moment before the storm. This song for sure has many different vibes but all of them creates unique picture

Ese fue otro intento de crear algo más malvado, algo desagradable y mucho más brutal y primario en su forma. Creo que lo hicimos bastante bien. Los coros que acompañan a las guitarras están creando una atmósfera muy inquietante y el preestribillo y el estribillo en sí pueden darte una sensación inquietante de que algo te está persiguiendo. Algo extraño, algo con malas intenciones.

That was another attempt to create something more evil, something nasty and far more brutal and primal in its form. I think we delivered pretty well. Choirs who are supporting guitars are building a very haunted atmosphere and pre-chorus and chorus itself can give you a disturbing feeling that something is chasing you. Something odd, something with bad intentions

Esta canción estaba destinada a estar en nuestro álbum debut, pero no estaba 100% terminada en ese momento. Para ser honestos, estamos contentos de haber decidido hacerla ahora porque es una versión mucho mejor y más larga que la anterior. También hay un outro realmente épico tocado en el teclado. En cuanto a la letra, la canción habla sobre perder los últimos restos de esperanza y pudrirse lentamente por dentro. Y al final, nuestro monstruo interior está tratando de matarnos. Otro dato curioso es que esta canción es la que más escuchas tiene en Spotify.

This song was meant to be on our debut album, but it was not 100% finished then. To be honest we are glad that we decided to make it now because it is a much better and longer version than it was before. Also there is a really epic outro played on the keyboard. Lyrically the song is about losing last pieces of hope and slowly rotting inside. And in the end our inner monster is trying to kill us. Also fun fact, this song has the most listens on Spotify.
